Workshop on Deep Learning and its Applications

The Development Club at IEEE PIEAS SB Computer Society conducted a Webinar under the title “DEEP LEARNING AND ITS APPLICATIONS” on 24 December ,2020. It was given by “DR. ASIFULLAH KHAN – Deputy Chief Scientist, Deep Learning, Image Processing and Pattern Recognition Expert.” He is named in Stanford University’s Top 2% Global Scientists list and currently serving as Deputy Chief Scientist in the department of Computer and Information Sciences, PIEAS.

Latex Workshop

Latex Workshop was held with the main aim of familiarizing the students with the software. It served as a learning tool and greatly enhanced the professional development of the participants. Providing opportunity to IEEE members to learn a new software for their reports. Students specially of final year found it very useful.

Workshop on Object-Oriented Programming with C++

The Development Club at IEEE PIEAS SB Computer Society conducted a 4-day workshop on Object-Oriented Programming using C++. This workshop was targeted towards the batch of 18-22 especially BSCIS 18-22. There was a capstone project on the last day. Topics covered included C++ syntax, Intro to OOP, Classes and Objects, Abstraction, Inheritance, Encapsulation, and Polymorphism etc.

Web development Workshop

Realizing the need and importance of MATLAB Software, IEEE PIEAS Student Branch conducted a 2 days’ workshop on introduction to MATLAB. on 15th and 16th of February, 2017 with the aim of giving the students conceptual and practical introduction to HTML and CSS languages.

Introduction to Machine Learning

IEEE PIEAS SB organized a workshop on “Introduction to Machine Learning”. The workshop was delivered by Dr. Fayyaz-ul-Amir Afsar Minhas, Principal Scientist, DCIS, PIEAS. The workshop began with a conceptual introduction to the day by day growing field of machine learning. This was then followed by an introduction to machine learning algorithms. Throughout, the focus of the workshop was on building deep conceptual understanding, exhaustive practical experience, and covering common mistakes and edge cases.
